It has been reported that Shahed/Geran one-way attack uncrewed aerial vehicles (OWA-UAV) have been dispensing munitions en-route to their targets in Ukraine
The designations of the munitions are currently unknown, but they consist of a cylindrical pre-notched outer casing, assumed to contain a high-explosive (HE) fill
The fuzing mechanism is unknown, but there have been two reported instances of the munitions detonating when approached by explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) personnel
This suggests that the fuzing incorporates a delay, or some form of proximity sensor, such as the Russian electronic fuzes that are similar to the Ukrainian ‘Johnnie’ series
