The OZM-72 (Ukr: ОЗМ-72) anti-personnel bounding mine has been adapted by Ukraine for deployment by uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV)
The modifications include: an outer casing; a ground spike; a stabilizing fin assembly; an improvised tripwire assembly and fuzing
The mine is dropped by UAV, stabilized by the fin assembly and secured in the ground by the spike
Impact with the ground causes the fin assembly to slide downward and release the spring-loaded tripwires
The tripwires may be used in conjunction with a proximity sensor, similar to the Johnnie type fuzes
The improvised fuzing can incorporate electric detonators, such as the EDP (Ukr: ЭДП), or NM (Ukr: НМ) initiator
We sent out new Bulletins via email, directly to our METIS enterprise-level users and publish them on our Blog the following week. To receive these directly to your inbox as soon as they're released, please contact us about upgrading your account.
