![]() | M99 ADVANCED SUBMUNITION (ASM)SUBMUNITION CURRENT, EMERGING The M99 Advanced Submunition (ASM) is an Israeli-developed, proximity-fuzed, high-explosive fragmentation, ribbon-stabilised, anti-personnel submunition. It can be dispensed by the 155 mm M999 Barak Eitan cargo projectile, or the 227 mm Ra'am Eitan cargo rocket. The fuze contains five initiation modes, with four of these being back-ups. This is claimed to provide a failure rate of <1%, however this remains to be verified. |
