The Barq is a variant of the Shawaz family of off-route anti-tank (AT) mines, produced and used by the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas. It is not to be confused with the anti-personnel rifle grenade of the same name. They can be laid on/against a ground or vehicle surface, or be thrown into/on top of a vehicle. They have been seen directly placed at roadsides or to target static vehicles, however the primary targeting method appears to be throwing them into open hatches of vehicles, allowing them to detonate internally.
