A recent attempted strike on Eilat, Israel, by the Houthi rebel group in Yemen, has unveiled their most recent ballistic missile
This missile was referred to as the ‘Palestine Ballistic Missile’ (top image), by the Houthis. However, it is believed to be the same as the Houthi Burkan 3 (bottom image)
The Burkan 3 differs from the earlier Burkan H2, which is thought to be based on the Iranian Qiam 2, in having a smaller, and therefore lighter, re-entry vehicle (RV) with a sharper, conical nose
The name, and conflict between the Houthi group and Israel, are in regard to the continued IDF operations against Hamas in Gaza
The ‘Palestine’ missile was intercepted by an Israeli Arrow 3 before reaching its target
