  • A modified fuzing system has been developed for the Ukrainian new generation PTM-3, uncrewed aerial vehicle UAV) delivered, anti-tank (AT) mines

  • The system consists of:

    • A plastic 3D-printed fuze holder

    • A programmable Johnnie fuze

    • An electrical connector

    • A safety tab

    • A long electrically-initiated detonator

  • The long length detonator is an effort to replicate the Soviet-era-designed dual-end detonation system in the original PTM-3, this would improve upon the single point of initiation in the current Ukrainian PTM-3 mines

  • The fuze is marked with PPTM (Ukr: ППТМ), which may be the designation for the fuze or the mine itself. PPTM may translate to ‘Anti-tank Anti-personnel Small-sized Mine’ (Ukr: Протитанкова протипіхотна мала розмірна міна), as it does for the Russian PPTM-R, however this would likely only be applicable for the short variant of the Ukrainian PTM-3

  • The other markings denote the arming delay (10 minutes) and self-destruct period (60 days)
