  • A POM-3 bounding anti-personnel mine has been shown, fitted with a device to permit manual initiation

  • This appears to be similar to the URP device, which was created for use with the POM-2

  • The red cap is unscrewed to reveal a string. When pulled, this releases a spring-loaded striker to ignite the pyrotechnic train

  • This device allows the POM-3 (which is normally dispensed by rockets) to be hand-laid for roles such as area denial, ambush or pursuit deterrence.
