First sight of the OAB-2.5RT (Ru: ОАБ-2,5РТ) which has been deployed by Russian forces in Ukraine.

  • The OAB-2.5RT (Ru: ОАБ-2,5РТ) has been deployed by Russian forces in Ukraine

  • Several were found unexploded in the Donetsk region, along with the tail fin of an RBK-500 dispenser bomb

  • The OAB-2.5RT is a spin-armed, aerially-delivered high explosive fragmentation (HE-FRAG) anti-personnel/anti-matériel submunition

  • It is a further improvement of the earlier of AO-2.5RT/AO-2.5RTM (Ru: АО-2,5РТ/АО-2,5РТМ)

  • It is known to be deployed by the RBK-500U OAB-2.5RT (Ru: РБК-500У ОАБ-2,5РТ), however, the RBK-500 tail fin suggests that an RBK-500 OAB-2.5RT (Ru: РБК-500 ОАБ-2,5РТ) cluster bomb also exists
