A recent video has shown Iranian M48 120 mm high explosive (HE) mortar bombs being used by Hezbollah against Israeli Defence Force (IDF) positions

  • A recent video has shown Iranian M48 120 mm high explosive (HE) mortar bombs being used by Hezbollah against Israeli Defence Force (IDF) positions

  • Proximity fuzes were fitted for an airburst effect

  • The designation of these fuzes is currently unknown, however they may be related to the Chinese MD-21 RF proximity fuze, which provides an airburst height of roughly 5-8 m

  • Their likeness to examples seen in previous imagery suggests that the fuzes may have been supplied by Iran
