A recently crashed Geran-2 has been seen with a 9M336 surface-to-air missile (SAM) fitted

  • Following reports in December 2025 of a Geran-2 modified to carry and fire an R-60 air-to-air missile (AAM), a recently crashed Geran-2 has been seen with a 9M336 surface-to-air missile (SAM) fitted

  • The 9M336, of the 9K333 Verba man-portable air defence system (MANPADS), is within its 9P333 launch tube and clamped to the top of the Geran-2

  • This iteration of the Geran-2 is believed to have a camera for operator control, utilizing onboard mesh networking and mobile network antennas

  • The AAM and MANPADS can be used to engage aerial targets during the flight of the UAV
