Russian fibre-optic guided first-person view (FPV) one-way attack uncrewed aerial vehicle (OWA-UAV) seen in Ukraine.

  • 10.8 km fibre-optic cable reel attached to UAV.​

  • Fibre-optic/wire-guided UAVs are immune to electronic warfare (EW) jamming and the radio horizon effect during the terminal phase of the attack​

  • The drawbacks are drastically reduced range and limited manoeuvrability.
