Iran has officially unveiled the Shahed-238 jet-powered uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV)
The previous Shahed-131 and Shahed-136 have propeller engines
The jet engine will likely reduce range due to greater fuel consumption, but will decrease the time taken to reach a target after launch, allowing for quicker interception of targets that may redeploy
The fuselage of the Shahed-238 is based on the previous Shahed-136 but with additional seeker head variants, currently believed to be:
Electro-optical Infrared (EOIR)
Active radar
Anti-radiation
The black colour scheme has also been seen on a recently shot down Geran-2 (see separate bulletin), it is not currently clear whether the Iranians or Russians were first to use this.
