A new Russian programmable electronic fuze has been seen.

  • A new Russian programmable electronic fuze has been seen

  • It is reportedly designated ‘Silok’ (Ru: Сілок, which translates as ‘snare’)

  • The design is likely comparable to, or an improved version of, the MAG-3

  • This fuze incorporates a magnetometer and possibly an accelerometer

  • It is reported to have a detection range of 1-3 m, or actuates when rotated by 1-10 degrees

  • The self-destruct period is claimed to be 7-30 days

  • The fuze is manually programmed using switches prior to deployment, as with the MAG-3 and similar Russian fuzes
