Following reports in December 2025 of a Geran-2 modified to carry and fire an R-60 air-to-air missile (AAM), a recently crashed Geran-2 has been seen with a dummy R-60 series fitted

  • This is likely intended to ward off crewed aircraft by posing significant risk

  • It may also attract attention of Ukrainian drone interceptors, improving the chances of more valuable assets being ignored
